CHANDIGARH: The protest against fee hike by the students of Panjab University (PU) turned into an outrage against cop-savagery. The groups of students of Panjab University came together on Wednesday to demand charges being dropped against students. Parents of some students as well joined the protests. Student leaders went round the campus, asking youngsters to boycott classes.
Police roughed up students for cornering the university vice-chancellor, Arun Kumar Grover. The next day members from Ambedkar Students' Association, Students' Federation of India (SFI), Students' Organization of Panjab University (SOPU) and Panjab University Students' Union (PUSU) joined Students for Society (SFS) in their commotion.
As a sign of support of those who got arrested, students visited various departments of university and vacated the classes.
