NEW DELHI: UGC has approved JNU the standing of University with Potential for Excellence (UPE) and has given it Rs sixty crore for analysis and infrastructure development. 

The UGC on April one wrote to JNU stating the funding is to be used on 2 major analysis areas - life sciences, social sciences and humanities. 

A part of the fund is additionally to be used for infrastructure development together with building of analysis laboratories. "We are purported to use the resources for up the instrumentation facilities, library upgradation, network property, reaching programmes. A vicinity of the fund also will be wont to fund participation by colleges and students in national and international conferences," aforesaid administrator, S K Sopory.
