Nearly 500 students pursuing M.A in Gujarati Literature found that they got zero in one of the papers. As per the officials, head of the department Kirtida Bhatt informed the controller of the examination, who took the matter to the vice-chancellor, MN Patel.
Students of semester I and III had got equal marks and that too zero. Upset with this matter, students reached the door of the vice-chancellor. Mr. Patel then asked the Controller of examination to carry out random checking without charging the said 500 students for rechecking.
The VC also asked the controller of examination to seek help from professors and experts from other university if there changes in the marks of the students whose papers were checked. The VC has said that if there was an error on the part of the Gujarat University or the professor who checked the paper, then there was a need to go get to the bottom of the issue as this was a big goof up and such errors cannot be tolerated by the university. The Controller of examination has called for the papers and is now getting it verified with the results to rule out any error in the entering the marks.
